The story begins with love at first sight. In 1979, Jacques and France Gauthier always stopped by Le Cochon Dingue in the Champlain neighborhood after the movies.

Jacques, a fan of indulgent desserts, is so hooked on the owner’s carrot cake that they decide to buy the little bistro, envisioning it as a place to host their friends in the atmosphere of the bistros they love.
